Birthday Party

A lay disciple wanted to hold a birthday party for the Master, so he asked Master for his birthdate. Master smiled but did not answer. The lay disciple did not understand, so he asked again.
Master said,
"Where there is birth, there is death. Monks don't celebrate birthday."
