In October 2024, during a tour of the United States to deliver Dharma lectures, Venerable Master Jianying introduced the practitioners to the significance of the following three books: 1) Effortless Composure in the Changing World teaches us how to apply Buddhist principles in everyday life to tackle life’s challenges; 2) The Mind Seal of Prajna Wisdom guides us to act in accord with the pure mind, the essence of Chan. The first two books encapsulate the Grand Master’s key teaching on how to embody the Chan-mind with bodhisattva practice; and 3) Bodhisattva in a Yellow Robe details the Grand Master’s life journey, showing us an exemplary model of what it means to be a true bodhisattva with a Chan-mind.
