October 9th, 2024, a delegation of five, led by Vice Rector Phramaha Surasak Prajantasen from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU) of Thailand, visited Chung Tai Chan Monastery. At 10:00 a.m., the Venerable Master Jianying, Abbot of Chung Tai Chan Monastery, and senior monastic leaders warmly received the delegation at the Sages Reception Room with a tea reception to express their sincere welcome.

During this period, under the guidance of the Vice Rector, both sides have carried out numerous exchange activities, including visits to Myanmar, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and MCU itself. These interactions have broadened our perspective and laid a solid foundation for further collaboration and mutual exchange. In the future, we hope to continue fostering mutual exchange between Mahayana and Theravada Buddhism by translating the teachings of our Founding Abbot, Grand Master Weichueh, and the Theravada sutras.”

Venerable Master Jianying also praised the Vice Rector for leading Mahayana Buddhism Research Center, emphasizing its significant contribution to the propagation of Buddhism. He further noted, “Our branch in Bangkok, Great Buddha Monastery, consistently shares Mahayana teachings and promotes meditation practices in Thailand. If the Center requires any related resources, we are more than willing to provide courses and other forms of support to further the propagation of Mahayana Buddhism.”
